How we handle disputes, impersonation, and content removal

Overview

BMX is committed to protecting the rights of artists, creators, and users. This policy outlines how we handle disputes related to ownership, impersonation, copyright infringement, and content takedown requests.

Ownership Disputes

When Ownership is Contested

If there is a dispute about who owns the rights to an artist name, brand, or token:

  1. Submit a Dispute: Email disputes@bitmusicex.com with your claim and supporting documentation.
  2. Token Freeze: We may temporarily freeze trading of the disputed token pending investigation.
  3. Investigation: Both parties will be contacted and given 14 days to provide evidence.
  4. Resolution: BMX will make a determination based on the evidence provided.
  5. Appeal: Either party may appeal within 30 days with new evidence.

Required documentation: Government ID, proof of artist name ownership (trademark, contracts), evidence of music releases.

Impersonation Policy

Zero Tolerance for Impersonation

Creating an account or token that impersonates another artist, celebrity, or public figure is strictly prohibited and will result in:

  • • Immediate account suspension
  • • Token delisting and trading halt
  • • Potential forfeiture of all assets on platform
  • • Reporting to law enforcement if fraud is involved
  • • Permanent ban from BMX

How to Report Impersonation

If you believe someone is impersonating you or another artist:

  1. Email admin@bitmusicex.com
  2. Include the username/token of the impersonator
  3. Provide proof of the real artist's identity
  4. Include links to official artist profiles (Spotify, Instagram, etc.)

Response time: Within 24-48 hours for impersonation reports.

Copyright & DMCA Takedowns

DMCA Notice Requirements

To submit a copyright infringement notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), include:

  • • Your physical or electronic signature
  • • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • • Identification of the infringing material on BMX
  • • Your contact information (address, phone, email)
  • • A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized
  • • A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notice with your identification, contact information, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed in error. Counter-notices must be sent within 10 business days of removal.

Artist Verification Disputes

Verification Standards

To maintain platform integrity, artists must meet verification standards. If an artist's verification is challenged:

  • • The artist will be notified and given 14 days to provide additional verification
  • • Trading may be paused during the verification review
  • • Failure to verify may result in token delisting

Verification requirements: Government ID, proof of music releases (Spotify/Apple Music links), social media verification, management/label confirmation (if applicable).
